The American Constitution Society and the Gay Straight Legal Alliance are hosting Equality Day on Friday, February 24th. Former Iowa Supreme Court Justice Michael Streit will talk with Creighton students about constitutional values and the judicial decision-making process. Mr. Streit was appointed by Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack in 2001 to Iowa Supreme Court. He was ousted from the Iowa Supreme Court in 2010 by failing to win a retention vote, after a national campaign in protest of the unanimous decision in Varnum v. Brien, which struck down a statutory same-sex marriage ban as unconstitutional.
